Frances Hedges
Frances Hedges wins an Acorn Award for her excellent work as GOERT’s Financial Administrator for three years. As she prepares to head back to her native England with her husband Joe and son Jack, we’d like to thank her and wish her well.
After graduating from the University of Leeds with a degree in Geography, Frances worked as a Financial Officer for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (UK).
She then shifted perspectives and worked at CAB International, a not-for-profit scientific publisher. She emigrated to Canada in 2001 on a whim and worked for a Chartered Accounting firm until GOERT saved her soul. At GOERT, we appreciated her good-humoured no-nonsense approach, and were confident that our financial and administrative matters were in good hands.
In Canada, Frances has enjoyed exploring the splendour of the British Columbia landscape, the novelty of skiing, and slow meandering walks with her two-year-old son.
We hope Frances and her family will be back in Canada some day soon; meanwhile we wish them all the best for their upcoming adventures in England, and we vow never to let them forget the beauty of Garry oak habitat on Canada’s west coast!
